A VLBA maps turbulent “weather” in the Milky Way byNationalRadioAstronomyObservatory stronomers using the U.S. National Science Founda- tion’sVeryLongBaseline rray (NSF VLBA), operated by the NSF National Radio Astronomy Ob- servatory (NSF NRAO), have made the first clear, radio-wavelength de- tection of how turbulent gas in our ownGalaxydistortslightfromadis- tant quasar. By analyzing nearly a decadeofNSFVLBAobservationsof thequasarTXS2005+403,aninter- national team led by the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithson- ian (CfA) directly measured the ti- ny, turbulence-driven “ripples” im- printed on the quasar’s radio signal as it passes through a particularly chaotic region of the Milky Way. TXS 2005+403 is a bright, compact blazarlocatedabout10billionlight- years away behind the Cygnus re- gion, where plasma clouds create someofthestrongestknowninter- JULY-AUGUST2026 ﻣﺠﻠﺔ FreeAstronomy ﺎﻟﻌﺮ ﺔ 30 ﻣﺼﻔﻮﻓﺔ » VLBA « ﺗﺮﺻﺪ ﻃﻘﺴﺎًﻣﻀﻄﺮ ﺎً ﻓﻲ ﻣﺠﺮ ﻨﺎ : ﻘﻠﻢ ﻟﻌﻠﻢ اﻟﻔﻠﻚ اﻟﺮادﻳﻮي اﻟﻤﺮﺻﺪ اﻟﻮﻃ ﺗﻤﻜـﻦ ﻋﻠﻤـﺎء اﻟﻔﻠـﻚ ﺑﺎﺳـﺘﺨﺪام ﻣﺼـﻔﻮﻓﺔ اﻟﻘﺎﻋﺪة اﻟﻄﻮﻳﻠ ﺔ )ﺟﺪاً ﰲ إل ﺑﻲ إﻳﻪ ( اﻟﺘﺎﺑﻌـﺔ ﻟﻠﻤﺆﺳﺴﺔ ا ﻟﻮﻃﻨﻴﺔ ﻟﻠﻌﻠﻮم اﻷﻣﺮﻳﻜﻴـﺔ اﻟﺘـﻲ ﻳﺪﻳﺮﻫﺎ ﻣﺮﺻﺪ اﻟﻔﻠﻚ اﻟﺮادﻳﻮي اﻟـﻮﻃﻨﻲ ﻣـﻦ أول رﺻﺪ رادﻳﻮي واﺿﺢ ﻟﻜﻴﻔﻴﺔ ﺗﺸﻮﻳﻪ اﻟﻐﺎز ا ﻀﻄﺮب داﺧﻞ ﻣﺠﺮﺗﻨـﺎ ﻟﻀـﻮء ﻗـﺎدم ﻣـﻦ ﻛﻮازار ﺑﻌﻴﺪ . واﻋﺘﻤﺪ ﻓﺮﻳﻖ دوﱄ ﺑﻘﻴﺎدة ﻣﺮﻛﺰ اﻟﻔﻴﺰﻳﺎء اﻟﻔﻠﻜﻴﺔ ﻋﲆ ﺗﺤﻠﻴﻞ ﻣﺎ ﻳﻘﺎرب ﻋﻘـﺪاً ﻣﻦ ﺑﻴﺎﻧﺎت ﻫﺬه ا ﺼـﻔﻮﻓﺔ ﻟﺮﺻـﺪ اﻟﻜـﻮ ازار TXS 2005+403 ﺣﻴﺚ ﺗﻤﻜﻨـﻮا ﻣـﻦ ﻗﻴـﺎس ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ ﺗﻤﻮﺟﺎت دﻗﻴﻘﺔ ﺟﺪاً ﻧﺎﺗﺠﺔ ﻋﻦ اﻻﺿﻄﺮاﺑﺎت ﰲ اﻟﺒﻼزﻣﺎ ا ﺠﺮﻳﺔ أﺛﻨﺎء ﻣﺮور اﻹﺷـﺎرة ﻋـﱪ ﻣﻨﻄﻘﺔ ﺷﺪﻳﺪة اﻻﺿـﻄﺮاب ﰲ درب اﻟﺘﺒﺎﻧـﺔ . ﻳﻘﻊ اﻟﻜـﻮازار TXS 2005+403 وﻫـﻮ ﻧـﻮاة ﻣﺠﺮﻳﺔ ﻧ ﺸﻄﺔ ﺷـﺪﻳﺪة اﻟﺴـ ﻄﻮع ﻣـﻦ ﻧـﻮع ﺑﻼّزار ﻋﲆ ﺑﻌﺪ ﻧﺤﻮ 10 ﻣﻠﻴﺎرات ﺳﻨﺔ ﺿﻮ ﺋﻴﺔ ﺧﻠﻒ ﻣﻨﻄﻘـﺔ ﻛﻮﻛﺒـﺔ اﻟﺪﺟﺎﺟـﺔ ﰲ اﻟﺴـﻤﺎء وﻫﻲ ﻣﻨﻄﻘﺔ ﻣﻌﺮوﻓﺔ ﺑﻜﺜﺎﻓﺔ ﺳﺤﺐ اﻟﺒﻼزﻣﺎ اﻟﺘﻲ ﺗُﺤﺪث أﻗﻮى ﺣﺎﻻت اﻟﺘﺸﺘﺖ ﺑ اﻟﻨﺠﻮم . ﰲ اﻟﺴﻤﺎء وﻋﻨﺪ اﻟﱰددات اﻟﺮادﻳﻮﻳﺔ ﺑ 1 و 5 ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ - ﻳﻮﻟﻴﻮ ﺃﻏﺴﻄﺲ 2 0 2 6
