4 SOLAR SYSTEM Our current technology does not allow us to reach other planetary systems, and this limitation will remain for a long time. This will not prevent us, however, from closely studying asteroids and comets born light years away around stars other than the Sun. The first of those objects has already been discovered a short distance from our planet, and we are thinking about how to intercept the next one.
